long post (unedited)
Some of you may remember previous posts about him (Rick’s “best friend”/thieving/backstabbing attorney). It’s been a couple years since I’ve seen or talked to him. Our last conversation was - I’m sure, quite an eye-opener(for him), and the end of his involvement with anything related to Rick’s estate. He sorely underestimated my intelligence and my grasp of the big picture. My last words to him were something like this -
“… -keep pushing me. But be aware of this - remember that deal you had going with Rick (description of specific incriminating events)… well - back then I was recording every fucking word of every single telephone conversation happening on my (house)phone! You either stay the fuck out of everything related to Rick - to Rick’s estate or I will deliver each and every fucking tape recording to your buddies at the police department - I’ll see you fucking rot in prison before you take another fucking cent from Rick or his kids!”
Pretty sure he knew I wasn’t bluffing because that was the last of his involvement with anything related to Rick or the estate. For the record, I never sent the tapes to the police department. He got in enough trouble on his own and was eventually disbarred.
Couple weeks ago my sister in law was moving and I had to pick up a couch she gave me. (beautiful gold velvet victorian - thanks sis!)
I’d worked (sweating my ass off, digging in dirt) on the water line til dark that night. It was so late and I was so tired I almost went as is. Then changed my mind… shower, hair, make-up, cute clothes - the works. And thank God I did because I ran smack into Jimmie. Was easy enough to ignore him amidst the chaos of people packing.
The cool part -
Shortly after I got there, she and I were alone on the porch. Me telling her I’d almost come without cleaning up first - damn was glad I hadn’t. She said after I walked in, Jimmie cornered her and wanted to know who the hot chic was. He didn’t even recognize me - let me tell ya - that moment made every mile I’ve run the last few months worth it a hundred times over. lol
Living/doing well really is the best revenge…
On one hand I quietly reveled in it - on the other hand it was - bittersweet I guess. He was about half drunk and kept losing his beer - from the man he used to be…
Back in the day he was a brilliant defense attorney, even served as a judge. There was a time he was compared to “a young Racehorse Haynes“. He was a legal genius. I’ve heard his presence in the courtroom described as like watching a maestro conduct a symphony. And it was true- all of it. He once told me that his dream was to argue a case at the Supreme Court.
I shouldn’t feel an ounce of compassion or sympathy for him - and I guess I don’t really. But I do feel kind of sad for the man he was when I first met him. He could have made a real and lasting impact - hate seeing that kind of waste…

It is so sad when someone with so much going for them chooses a destructive path. It’s such a waste of talent.
