My back’s been bothering me. Known for awhile I need a new mattress.
but-
this is our mattress.
It’s where we held each other, and shut the world out…where I slept on his shoulder…it’s where he proposed, and where we loved,
and made love.
uncomfortable
comforting.
Comforting that it is and must be.
It would be hard to part with.
