Class Dismissed

Now this is interesting.

It’s every modern parent’s worst nightmare—a school where kids can play all day. But no one takes the easy way out, and graduates seem to have a head start on the information age. Welcome to Sudbury Valley.

  1. There’s a new indie film called “Schooled” (currently playing the festival circuit) which is based on the Sudbury Valley School -

  2. awesome! thank you.

  3. My sister shares your views on public education. (Nephews 13 & 10). While I must admit, I had a couple of teachers through the course of my education, that really made a difference. Most of the others, well… I think we get what we pay for. Probably one of the lowest paid professions. Yet we’re supposed to send the most valuable thing in our lives, our children, off to public schools. Public schools where they are suppose to be secure, learn and literally be our future. Yet intead we have shootings, molestations, abductions and poor nutrition in the cafeterias. And about as mundane as milk toast. Yet just mention the thought of raising taxes for better education and people freak the F#*& out! Sure puts a damper on the future, eh? I know my sister wishes ther was an alternative (like in the link you provided) near her.

  4. Money is,as everything else in life the mothere milk of education.
